Here’s response from some council members to the Chamber review:

"It's pretty gross," said Councilman Steve Troncale of the Chamber audit. "I don't think there was any criminal negligence here, I think it was just poor management."

As to what the council can do, Troncale said he hadn't spoken with any council members but added that it's up to the Chamber.

"The administrators that were involved are gone, and its up to the new administration of the chamber to get that house in order," he said. "Aside from slapping anybody on the wrist we don't know what we would do."

Overall, Troncale said this audit was a "wake-up call."

"One of the problems, if you look at the audit, was there was co-mingling of public and private funds. You can't do that," Troncale said. "There has to be some major changes in the way that the chamber has their accounting done."

Councilwoman Stacey Korbeck-Reeder did not return calls for comment.

Councilman Randy Davis said he had not read the review.

Councilman Jim Doherty said: “The audit speaks for itself and I’m going to let it speak for itself.”
